The annual Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race raises funds to support the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut. These centers offer one-on-one tutorial sessions to children valued at $5000/child and also offer teacher training programs valued at $10,000/tutor. 100% of the proceeds are distributed to the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut.

COMPLIMENTARY

  1. T-SHIRTS for the first 200 registrants!
  2. All participants can hydrate and replenish for free from an assortment of baked pastries, fruits, gatorade, and water!
  3. Wellness services by Roba Physical Therapy and Wellness. Includes massage tables, cupping, normatec compression boots and more! They would love to give back to such a great cause and connect with community members in the process.

RACE COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • A two loop course that starts and ends in front of the Scottish Rite Building at 207 Deming Street.
  • Race course is a full gamut of ups and downs with moderate hills on a scenic route with plenty of water stations and volunteers.
  • Loop 1:
      1. Start on Deming in front of Scottish Rite Building.
      2. Turn left at southern entrance to Candlewyck
      3. Turn Right at Cambridge
      4. Right on Lexington - loop around grass island
      5. Right back on Cambridge
      6. Right on Culver
      7. Right Deming
      8. Right on Candlewyck to start Loop 2
  • Loop 2:
      1. Follow Candlewyck to right on Stage Coach
      2. Right onto Little Brook
      3. Right on Culver
      4. Right on Deming
      5. Left into Scottish Rite Parking Lot to FINISH

Parking Is ONLY Available at LAY-Z-BOY Furniture Galleries 3050 Berlin Turnpike, Newington. Enter By Way of the Sphinx Shriners. (Follow Signs to Event, Parking is at your own risk)
