From the organizer
This timed run is a fundraiser for the 73rd annual Tree Planting Festival, the longest-running festival of this kind in the world. Our course this year will be mostly flat and fast on the streets through the uptown area, which has gorgeous views of the forested hills surrounding Oakridge. We are infusing a bit more fun this year as the race will essentially start the parade, and prizes will be awarded to best costume and more. The race begins at 10:45am on Saturday May 2. There will be a pretty fun block party the previous night in conjunction with the first Friday art walk. We will have a few dj's, a May pole, a square dance, and of course plenty of tree-themed art - all free to the public. Plenty of things going on from 5pm-10pm.
