WHO WE ARE The Endometrial Cancer Action Network for African-Americans, or ECANA, is a 501(c)3 organization created for African-American women affected by endometrial cancer (commonly known as EC or uterine cancer).  OUR MISSION is to improve the lives of Black people affected by Endometrial Cancer.  We have come together to create support, community, and empowerment for any African American affected by endometrial cancer. Reproductive health care & cancer care for Black people is not as it should be. We are here to bridge the gap through survivor community building, education, and research advocacy.  Our members consist of doctors, patients, survivors, community advocates, and professional leaders across the United States.

OUR EVENTSTRIDES 2 SURVIVE 5K VIRTUAL FUN WALK/RUNTotal distance to complete is 5k or 3.1 miles  This is our 3rd Annual Virtual 5K which celebrates Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month!

WHEN - EVENT DAY is Saturday September 19, 2026.  Registrants may stretch the event over multiple days in September. Regardless of which day(s) you choose to complete your 5K, we encourage participants to tune in to our social media on 9/19 watch our program highlighting women who are affected by Uterine/endometrial cancer and caregivers.  You also get the opportunity to see our sponsors who are great partners in this endeavor.  The completion of the 5K is totally on the honor system.

WHO - OUR AUDIENCE includes EVERYONE!  Black women who are endometrial cancer survivors, friends, caregivers, supporters, volunteers, young, old, avid walkers/runners as well as newcomers.  Anyone who supports our cause is welcome. We estimate our attendance will range from 300 – 500 registered attendees.

WHERE -  ANYWHERE YOU CHOOSE.  The goal is to complete a 5K (3.1 miles).  YOU CHOOSE your location (park, neighborhood, indoor mall, walking trail, home/treadmill, etc) and it's up to you if you would like to break it down into manageable portions.

HOW - You may walk/run solo or with a group or team.  If walking/running is not for you, please utilize alternate activities (housework, biking, gardening, etc.)  to achieve the goal of 5K (3.1 miles).  We have a generous list of activity ideas for you to choose from. We use the Honor System so there is no pressure to over exert yourself.  Go at your own pace!

GIFTS - Registrations completed before 8/20 will be guaranteed their items!!  Those who register by this date can expect their items to ship no later than 9/14/2026 (to arrive before race day).  Registrations after 8/20 will be mailed out the first week of October.  Items are shipped first come first served until all inventory is depleted.  Inventory on the registration will reflect if items have been depleted.
