Shine Like Sable, the Comet Cupboard, and City of Mason have been champions of kindness ensuring Mason City School’s students facing food insecurity have access to the essentials they need to thrive.

We are thrilled to invite you to our 1st Annual Spooktacular Costume 5K Walk and Run on October 18 th at Corwin M. Nixon Park. This family friendly event encourages participants of all ages to showcase their most creative Halloween costumes and enjoy a dog and stroller friendly course winding through the heart of Mason.

This is sure to be a frightfully fun day for our community. Race proceeds and donations will go to support the great work Shine Like Sable, the Comet Cupboard, and the City of Mason do to support our food insecure Mason City School students.

Schedule: 7:30 AM: Race Day Check-in Opens (no need to come early if you do packet pickup before the event) 8:50 AM: Race Line Up and Announcements 9:00 AM: 5k Begins

Age Divisions for Awards: 10 & Under 11-19 20-29 30-29 40-49 50-59 60 and Over Awards: Top Male and Female in each age division will receive a first-place lanyard with their medal Registration Fee: Now through September 22nd: $30 for Adults. $25 for Kids 10 and under. Registrations before the 22nd are guaranteed a race t-shirt and medal September 23rd – October 3rd : $35 for Adults; $30 for Kids 10 and under. October 4th – Race Day: $40 for Adults. $35 for Kids 10 and under.

Folks who register after September 22nd are not guaranteed a t-shirt or medal.
