Weather snapshot (AI-assisted text)

Taking place in Baton Rouge, LA in April, you can generally expect warm and potentially humid conditions. Mornings might be pleasant, but temperatures can rise quickly. Hydration will be key, and dressing in light, breathable layers is always a good idea for spring events in the South.

Terrain & course feel (AI-assisted text)

Given it's a 1-mile walk and a 5K run/walk in a city setting, the terrain is most likely paved roads or paths. Expect a relatively flat course, typical for urban 5Ks, unless specific elevation changes are noted, which they are not here.

Welcome to the Seize the Day Warrior Walk in Baton Rouge!

We are Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana (EAL), the oldest epilepsy organization in the state, dedicated to supporting people living with epilepsy through direct services, education, and advocacy. Since 1977, we have provided essential community services across Louisiana, reaching thousands of individuals impacted by epilepsy. Our mission is to assist those affected by epilepsy within their communities by addressing the broad spectrum of challenges seizures can bring.

We are excited to host our 22nd Annual Seize the Day event on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This is our biggest fundraising event, dedicated to supporting people with epilepsy. For over 20 years, we’ve featured a 1-mile run/walk, which is now called the "Warrior Walk." To better align with our mission and to honor the strength and courage of those affected by epilepsy, the Warrior Walk will now be a walk-only event and will not be timed.

In addition, we’re keeping our traditional 5K race, a special part of this event for many years. By participating in either the Warrior Walk or the 5K, you’ll help raise vital funds for our programs and services while enjoying a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

This year, Baton Rouge will offer both the Warrior Walk and the 5K, while other cities will host the Warrior Walk only. This shift will help us expand epilepsy awareness and grow our community support in more Louisiana cities, including Youngsville and New Orleans. *SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT* 2026 will bring the Warrior Walk to Shreveport!!
