The 6th Annual Run Morehead 5K presented by The Citizens Bank returns to downtown Morehead on Friday, July 3, 2026 , bringing runners, walkers, families and the community together for an evening focused on movement and connection.

Run Morehead is a welcoming, all-ages event designed for participants of every pace and experience level. Whether you’re running for a personal best, walking with friends, or joining for the first time, this event is about showing up and being part of something local and meaningful.

Event Details Date: Friday, July 3, 2026 Race Time: 6 p.m. Location: Downtown Morehead, KY Distance: 5K Participants: Runners and walkers of all ages. Strollers and dogs on fixed length leashes are welcome too. All participants will receive a finisher medal and race shirt. Course: Downtown route through the heart of Morehead Race Fun: Music, food, photos and more will happen before and after the race.

Registration Registration opens March 1, 2026 Early registration is encouraged. Participants who register by the shirt deadline will be guaranteed an official Run Morehead event shirt. Shirts will be cotton unisex, sizes available Adult XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL | Youth S, M, L.

Packet Pickup: Day before Thursday, July 2 -5-7 p.m . at Morehead Police Department 309 W. Main St. across from Walgreens. Day of Friday, July 3 - 4:30-5:45 p.m . at Battson-Oates Entertainment Area. *Picking up for family/friends is encouraged with no credentials, paperwork or ID's necessary.
