Run the Course 5k

Experience a race like no other in the Orlando area with Run the Course 5K at Mission Resort + Club. This isn’t your typical flat Florida pavement pounder; instead, you’ll trade the asphalt for the rolling, emerald fairways of the historic 1917 El Campeon golf course. As you navigate the pristine Florida wilderness, you'll challenge yourself against rare 85-foot elevation changes and undulating terrain that has tested golf legends for over a century. The journey winds through a breathtaking landscape of ancient oaks and scenic vistas, culminating in a triumphant finish through the heart of the Mediterranean-style resort.

Whether you’re a competitive runner or looking for a scenic morning stroll, this event offers a unique chance to "run the course" and immerse yourself in the natural beauty and history of Howey-in-the-Hills.

Runners can also take on the 2026 Two Course Challenge by participating in Run the Resort on Labor Day Weekend and Run the Course in the spring. Complete both events and earn two connected medals — each representing a different course — that join together to form one magnificent double challenge medal. Two races. Two historic courses. Important Notes:

All participants must be registered. Anyone running without a bib will be asked to leave and possibly banned from future events.
If you're pacing someone (a child, spouse, or friend), you must register and sign the waiver as well.

Race Day Registration: Available online until 6:55 AM, as long as the event is not sold out. No on-site paper registration.

Awards: Stay post race to celebrate our top finishers, awards ceremony will begin at 8:30 AM Categories are top 3 Male and Female overall, First Male and Female Masters, and top 3 Male and Female in 10 year age groups, starting with 19 and under up to 70 and over.  You may log in to our results page to view the results post race as participants finish
