The course

From the organizer

We have joined forces! The 2026 End DWI and support Rehoboth June Camp event will provide runners and walkers an opportunity to enjoy a competitive, timed, 5k or 10k run, a kid's 1-mile race (new this year!) or a non-competitive 1-mile walk in the fresh autumn air, surrounded by the majestic red rocks and beautiful scenery of Church Rock, NM. The 5k and 10k courses are entirely on dirt trails. (except for the start/finish line) There are also law enforcement and EMS competitions for the 5k, details below. The purpose of this event is for families who have been impacted by drunk driving crashes, to bring awareness to the issue, and also raise money for "June Camp" which is available to all children, grades K through 8, from any school for the first 3 weeks of June. ALL MONEY RAISED FROM THIS EVENT WILL STAY IN GALLUP. Half of the money raised will be for the "DWI Memorial Wall Project" (email Jennifer at  jennbates0907@gmail.com for details) and the other half will be for Rehoboth's "June Camp" program. For more information email Kenedi at kberkhimer@rcsnm.org

Event Details:

The 1-mile walk course is on pavement and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Dogs are allowed on the 1-mile walk course ONLY and must be on a leash at all times. The 1-mile walk course will not be a timed event. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to form teams and walk in unity for their family members who have been impacted by a drunk driving crash, or to support the June Camp program. Tents, your own T-shirts, signs and pictures can be displayed at the event. The 1-mile walk will start at 8:20 a.m. and is an out-and-back course. (course map will be added soon)

The 5k and 10k runs will be timed by Rocky Mountain Timing Company. Each runner will receive a bib with a timing chip. There are awards for 1st-3rd place in each age group, male and female, and 1st – 3rd overall, male and female. The 10k will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and the 5k will start promptly at 8:10 a.m. The 5k course is a 3.1 mile loop, and the 10k runners will run the course twice, 6.2 miles. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to form teams and walk in unity for their family members who have been impacted by a drunk driving crash, or support the June Camp Program. Tents, your own T-shirts, signs and pictures can be displayed at the event. It is a fast, flat course with a few sandy spots for your enjoyment. 😊 (course map will be added soon)

NEW! Kid's 1-mile Run! We're introducing a 1-mile kids run for ages 14 and under, designed for young runners who want a step up from a walk while building toward a 5k. This course will be on a sandy, hilly terrain, not suitable for strollers. (The 1-mile walk is best for strollers!) This run will not be timed, but every participant will get a medal when they cross the finish line!
