The Norwegian Foot March is a historic test of military marching endurance being held since 1915. The objective being to move large numbers of soldiers quickly over long distances and remain combat-ready. Fairchild AFB and the Base Honor Guard are giving military members, retiree's and civilians with base access, an opportunity to test themselves and earn the Foot March badge and certificate.
The course is a 18.64 miles and contestants are required to carry a pack containing 24.25 pounds. Weighted vests or plate carriers are not authorized for official weight, contestants must use a pack. Additionally all military contestants must wear their services combat uniform and boots. Civilians and retiree's are required to wear a uniform similar to a military combat uniform, including long pants and boots. Time cut off's/ requirements can be found bellow.
Packs are not provided and you must have base access to attend. The start and finish point is across from the base Chapel and near the front gate. The route will be an improved path, i.e. paved walk way and roads.
Sign in, weight in and opening remarks will be held at 0700 at start/ finish line and race will begin promptly at 0800.
