The 12th annual Mud Gauntlet takes place on one of the Northeast's premier permanent obstacle course venues. The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet course is consistently nominated as one of the top permanent obstacles courses in the nation. Open wave participants will enjoy awesome swag, elite athletes will compete for a prize purse, and food options will be available to everyone in the festival area throughout the day.

The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet is a tough and challenging course but offers options on many of the obstacles. This 3.5 mile course winds around 100 acres of wooded terrain in which you'll encounter many natural and man-made obstacles. You'll get to choose your difficulty level by taking either the Risk and Reward path or the Tried and True path. This allows for the seasoned athlete and the first-timer to compete together, side‑by‑side.

Elite - This heat will be timed and cash awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Payouts are as follows: $500, $250, $100. Athletes in this heat are expected to complete all obstacles or associated penalties. The elite heat will begin at 9AM.

Age Group Competitive -  This heat will be timed. Top finishers in all age groups will receive an award. Athletes in this heat are expected to complete all obstacles or associated penalties. This heat will begin at 9AM.

Single Lap Open - This heat is for anyone who is looking for mud, obstacles and adventure! Participants in this heat will have a chance to tackle all of the obstacles on the course, but are not required to attempt or complete all obstacles. Athletes are encouraged to help each other out on course and have fun! Open heats are NOT timed. All participants will receive an event shirt and medal. Start times for open waves are 9:30AM, 10:00AM, and 10:30AM.

Multi Lap - This heat is for anyone who wants multiple hours of mud! Participants are encouraged to take on all obstacles and penalties, but are not required to complete or attempt all obstacles. Laps will be timed; participants will have 6 hours to complete as many laps as possible. This heat will begin at 9AM.
