Milford Campus Bridgeport Hospital Mother's Day 5K Run/Walk, 3K - Walkers only and Kids Fun Run

For over thirty years the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus has hosted a Mother's Day Run and Walk to promote wellness and health. All abilities are invited to join us as we celebrate this special day!  Proceeds from this year’s Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk will support programs and patients of Bridgeport Hospital's Milford Campus.

Important to note: THIS YEAR WE ARE LIMITING OUR PARTICIPANT NUMBER TO 650.

Please consider registering early - we were close to sold out last year.  We do not want to compromise your safety and  have limited space. Once registration is closed, it will NOT be reopened. Thank you for understanding.

EVENTS:

Our 5K chip timed Run (or walk) and 3k Fitness Walk (untimed) both begin and ends at the Milford Campus of Bridgeport Hospital.

You must RUN or WALK the entire 5K if you want to be computer timed and eligible for awards.

Our 3K walk (1.8mi) is not timed.

Our FREE, 1/10 mi Kids Fun Run is prior to the start of the 5K.   All kids 5th grade (10 years) and under can enter this non-competitive (no awards) fun run.

We encourage all levels of participants for all of our events. Join us for a great start to Mother's Day!

The Kids run is held before the start of the 5k/3k and is FREE for 10yr old and under only. But we do ask that you preregister them (above) so we may prepare for everyone!

SWAG:

All 5K and 3K participants receive a race tee shirt.

Shirt size/availability guaranteed if pre-registered by April 26.

You can purchase after that date but sizing is limited.

Notes on the courses:

3K and 5K have the same start but 3K splits off and then joins back to 5K along the water at Fort Trumbull.  All 3K participants need to stay on the sidewalks to ensure safety. Both courses are flat and scenic, and are accurately measured and well marked with mile splits.  Police and volunteers will be on hand for safety.

EARLY BIB & SHIRT PICKUP OUTSIDE THE FRONT OF MILFORD HOSPITAL:

Friday 5/8 we have added a bib/shirt pickup -  3pm to 6pm sharp!

Saturday 5/9 from 9am-noon  sharp!

Save the hassle of Sunday’s stress! Yes you can pickup for others as well.

EVENT SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY - 5/10:

7:45-9:00 am       Bib and Shirt Pickup - online late registration only if not sold out, no cash. Bring your phone!

8:45 am               Kids Fun Run -Two laps, safely, in the registration lot.

8:55 am                Announcements

9:00 am                Start 5K Run and 3K Walk

9:15 am                Snacks and fluids

10:00 am              Awards presented to the timed 5K participants

AWARDS:

Male and Female 5K champions as well as in age groups 9 and under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, and ten year age groups

through 80+ (and beyond if they are pre registered!) All age groups 18 and under receive medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

SPECIAL AWARDS:

Mother/son, Mother/daughter teams

First place age groups - (19-80+) WOODBRIDGE Running Company Gift Certificates

Second place age groups - (19-80+)

Third place - (19-80+)

Notes:

Woodbridge Running Club has graciously donated $25 gift cards for our Male and Female  champions!

There are no awards for the untimed, 3k walk. Only 5k timed participants are eligible for awards.
