Race day (AI-assisted text)
Expect a friendly, low-key atmosphere for packet pickup, likely on race morning near the University Union. The crowd will probably be enthusiastic but not overly competitive, with many participants walking or jogging at a comfortable pace. On Saturday, April 18th, Omega Phi Alpha is hosting our third annual 5K event (O-5-K) on and around the BU brain to raise money and support for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. O-5-K will start at the front of University Union at 11 AM. This year's theme is "Love Grows Where OPhiA Goes!” This theme represents individuals and our never-ending growth as people, especially in areas of mental health. Wear anything floral themed or brightly colored for the beginning of Spring! The first three male and female runners will receive a prize! Free water and snacks will be provided to all participants.
As Binghamton students, we have learned firsthand how mental health can impact not just individuals but the campus as a whole. Our goal is to raise money for an organization that will benefit Binghamton and surrounding areas directly within the mental health realm: the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier. All proceeds from donations, registration, and sponsorships will be directed toward the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier.
The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) is a nonprofit organization based in New York State, USA. It serves the Southern Tier region, which includes counties such as Broome, Tioga, Chenango, and Delaware. MHAST is dedicated to promoting mental wellness and providing support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental illness.
MHAST offers various programs and services aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and helping individuals access resources for treatment and support. These programs may include support groups, educational workshops, crisis intervention services, suicide prevention initiatives, and community outreach activities.

In the event that it rains on April 18th, O5K will be rescheduled to April 25th at 11AM instead.
