From the organizer
This will be the first running of the “Licensed to Fly” 5k. The proceeds this year will benefit The Coats Lions Club. This course will begin and end near the mural in Downtown Coats. The race is scheduled for Saturday May 9, 2026. The race will start at 8:00 a.m. and will be chip timed. Medals will be presented to the top 3 overall female and male. Age group medals will be given to females and males based on USAT&F 10 year groupings: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
This race will be the first of a Harnett County series, partnered with races in Erwin and Dunn. Sign up for all three using the "Bundle" option and save some money! Bundle registration will only be offered until 3/31/26 when the registration for the first race closes.
