The GASP is back!
Originally created in the late 1970s by a group of cyclists who shared a love of long rides and great Texas beer, the GASP became a beloved Texas cycling tradition. Now it returns as the Greater Area Shiner Pedal.
The Greater Area Shiner Pedal (GASP) is a ride, not a race, built for cyclists who want to enjoy the open roads, the charm of small-town Shiner, and the camaraderie that makes great rides memorable.
Participants can choose from three distances: 100 miles, 50 miles, or 25 miles, making it perfect for seasoned riders and casual cyclists alike. The ride is on open roads, meaning participants are required to follow the appropriate safety precautions and obey all traffic laws.
100 Mile Route (subject to change) | 50 Mile & 25 Mile routes will be added soon.
Whether you’re chasing the full century or just enjoying a relaxed ride with friends, the Greater Area Shiner Pedal is all about great roads, great people, and a great day on the bike. While the ride will be professionally chip timed, it is not a race and awards will not be handed out.
Join us in Shiner and be part of the return of a Texas classic.
The race will start and end at the Spotzel Brewery.
Your entry includes 3 beers (21+) and a bratwurst meal at the conclusion of your ride.
Shiner Beer cycling jerseys are available to riders during the registration process for $85. Limited to 200 jerseys.
