Short distance multi-sport racing is back on the Seneca Lake waterfront in Geneva, NY with 2 events; Kids Triathlon and a first in the Northeast, the Geneva Mixed Team Relay (MTR) triathlon. Introduced at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, the MTR format is ultra face-paced, spectator-friendly, and loads of fun for triathletes of every ability.
Mixed Team Relay Triathlon - Basic Info
- Team Size: 4 evenly mixed-gender athletes only (2 Male, 2 Female)
- Distance: Swim 0.25-mile (300m), Bike 3.9-mile (5.6km), Run 1.25-mile (2km)
- Race Format: In this order (F-M-F-M), one athlete must complete the full triathlon before tagging the next teammate in the designated relay zone until all four have completed the race to generate a total team time.
- Timing: Total team time is used to determine performance awards
- Awards: Overall Top 3 Teams, Age Groups by Decade
- Age Groups: Calculated by average age of total team and grouped by decade
- Important FYIs / Notes
- You may register as an individual to be paired with 3 others to form a 4-person mixed gender team. Pairing will be done at random.
- Course distances are subject to adjustments to meet environmental demands and weather conditions
- Due to the technical nature of the bike course and athlete safety, road bikes are preferred as aero positioning on the bike is highly discouraged
