From the organizer

Tavares Police Charity is hosting a 5k for Child Abuse Awareness month. During the month of April, and all year, we want to bring awareness to prevention and education regarding the signs of child abuse. There are various types of child abuse such as physical, sexual emotional and neglect. Our local law enforcement officers work regularly with other agencies such as the Child Advocacy Center, Department of Children and Families and Guardian ad Litem programs. Please remember, if you see something, say something.

This run is a community event. If you cannot participate in the run, we still invite you to come, whether you are a survivor or a supporter, to show your support and cheer on our runners as they cross the finish line. A percentage of donations will be put towards child abuse prevention and education efforts and will be processed through the Mt. Dora Community Trust.
