The Boilermaker Walk presented by Slocum-Dickson Medical Group is a great way to get out & moving while being a part of the Boilermaker Experience!
The course is designed to allow you to make your own distance decision. The complete out and back is approximately 3 1/2 miles, but we will have turnaround signage at key points notating the distance from each points for you.
The walk will start and finish from the beautiful MVCC Utica campus and make its way along Culver Avenue and into T.R. Proctor Park and then on to F.T. Proctor Park. The course highlights Utica's Parks which were funded by the Proctor family and designed by the Olmsted's (Frederick Sr. & Jr.). You can learn more about this history by visiting https://olmstedcity.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/olmstedcity.
Before and/or after your walk, join the festivities of the Boilermaker's Health & Wellness Expo presented by MVHS in the quad and in Jorgensen Field House of the MVCC campus.
You can pick up your commemorative Walk Bib between 12pm (noon) and 7pm on Friday, July 10th or between 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Saturday, July 11th, in the Performance Gym on the MVCC campus and you will receive your Finisher's Pin as you cross the Finish Line.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The Walks start promptly at 11:00 am! There will be bikes leading the way and following along behind the pack. To ensure your safety and the safety of all participants at street crossings and throughout the courses, we cannot accommodate anyone who shows up late. Like a road race, the start gun waits for no one.
- This is a rain or shine event.
- While the course is primarily on asphalt and concrete, please note that there are also other areas that may require a degree of navigation including grass, curbs, etc.
- The Walk is a community event. It is NOT timed and therefore, should NOT be considered a competitive endeavor.
