Because We Care 5K

The Because We Care 5K Run & Walk is more than a race—it’s a mission in motion. Hosted by We Care Foundation, this event brings our community together to support children fighting cancer and the families walking that journey alongside them.

Every step taken directly fuels real, immediate assistance for local pediatric cancer families. Registration proceeds help provide monthly gas cards for treatment travel, nutritional support, We Care Kits, emergency assistance, and critical family resources—because when a child is in treatment, financial stress should never be part of the diagnosis.

This is a family-friendly, all-ages event welcoming runners, walkers, teams, strollers, and first-timers. Whether you’re racing the clock or walking with purpose, your presence matters.

What participants can expect:

Professionally timed 5K run & walk
Participation medals for all registered participants
Placement trophies for top finishers in each age group

Overall Awards: Awards will be awarded to the Top 3 overall finishers. Overall awards are separate from age group awards.

Exclusive trucker hat for all participants who register by March 20th
Post-race drinks and snacks for all participants
A strong show of gold in honor of childhood cancer awareness
