At a glance (AI-assisted text)

Join the 14th annual Band on the Run 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, supporting Rockingham County Middle School Band with a course featuring a few hills.

The vibe (AI-assisted text)

This event has a wonderful community feel, centered around supporting the Rockingham County Middle School Band. You'll find a mix of runners and walkers, from students to families, all coming together for a good cause. The atmosphere is likely to be encouraging and friendly, with a focus on participation and collective support for the band program.

Best for (AI-assisted text)

This race is ideal for runners and walkers who enjoy supporting local school programs and appreciate a community-focused event. It's also great for families looking for an active outing, with options for both a competitive 5K and a more relaxed 1-mile fun run.

Race day (AI-assisted text)

Packet pickup for your T-shirt and goody bag is available the Friday before or on race day morning. Expect a lively start line with a diverse crowd, including many students and families. The 5K course is paved asphalt, so road shoes are perfect, and be ready for a few hills that will add a little challenge. The 1 Mile Fun Run offers a more relaxed, inclusive experience for all ages.

Personality (AI-assisted text)

The event has a warm, supportive personality, driven by its mission to benefit the middle school band. It's a blend of friendly competition and community spirit, where personal bests are celebrated alongside the collective achievement of supporting young musicians. Expect a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Weather snapshot (AI-assisted text)

Taking place in April in Reidsville, NC, you can generally expect mild spring weather. Temperatures could range from cool mornings to comfortably warm afternoons. It's wise to check the forecast closer to race day, but typically, April offers pleasant running conditions in this region.

Terrain & course feel (AI-assisted text)

The 5K course is described as having a paved asphalt surface, so it's definitely a road race. While mostly flat, the mention of 'a few hills' suggests there will be some elevation changes to keep things interesting. The course winds through the outskirts of downtown Wentworth.
